Knitting Songs

Webheads asked a music trivia question and my curiosity has gotten the better of me. I decided to go on a search for this query. While I haven't found the answer to her question (yet) I did find a couple of amusing knitting songs I wanted to share.

Here is a knitting song from the Muppets:
Artist Lyrics: Muppets
Song Lyrics: Doozer Knitting Song

It's neat and it's sweet
It's a ding dong treat
Knittin' socks for little feet
Just sittin' with your knittin' all day long
You know knittin's friendly
And knittin's fun
Knittin's good for everyone
And that is why we sing this knittin' song
Well it's knit one pearl two
What's a Doozer gonna do
With a gol-darn
Ball of yarn?
It's stitch three drop four
Pitch that knittin' out the door right now
There's a green there's a red
There's a knot in my thread
A knitter needs his noggin read
So don't come 'round and speak to me of yarn
You can k-nit all day and k-nothin' fits
'Cause only k-nitwits like to k-nit
And k-nittin' k-needles just ain't worth a darn
Well it's knit one pearl two
What's a Doozer gonna do
With a gol-darn
Ball of yarn?
It's stitch three drop four
Pitch that knittin' out the door right now

According to this website these are lyrics to
Artist Lyrics: Chumbawamba
Song Lyrics: Knit Your own Balaclava

Twelve stitches in sixteen rows
Two inches overpacking on number ten needles
Cast one hundred twenty one stitches
And knit one, purl one, repeat to the end
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one
Repeat as knitted for seven and a half centimeters
Finishing on the second row
Change to number eight needles
Then knit one, purl one, repeat to the end
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one
Cast off twelve
Purl to the last twelve stitches
Break on acrylic, turn and rejoin
Then knit two, purl two, to the last two stitches
Knit two, purl two, knit two, purl two
Knit two, purl two, knit two, purl two
Continue 'til work measures twenty-five centimeters
Finishing on the wrong side row
Cast off twenty-eight, cross on thirty-three
Break and then rejoin, cast off and sew
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one
Knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one

Interesting...

Have a great day!
