Show and Tell

I've been doing some serious stash enhancement (Hooray for tax returns!) over the last couple of weeks. Now that I have most of the yarn I thought I'd share some photos.

Stacey, Cathi, and I have decided to make Rogue starting late this summer. Summery projects are calling and demanding not to be ignored so we figure July is a good time to start fall projects. For mine I purchased Peace Fleece in Grass Roots (though for the longest I called it Dead Grass, as it matched my front lawn), shown below. There are so many different color flecks in this yarn. Many more that I thought there would be. I was expecting the blues and tangerine because those were in the color description. This is much lovelier than just blues and tangerine. I'm really looking forward to working with it.

Triada Scarf was a must have for me when I saw the preview for the Summer 05 edition of Interweave Knits. I am not normally a huge fan of the shrug, shawl, poncho, or caplet - I know this is called a scarf but it's more caplet-esque to me than a traditional scarf. This called out to me and I went in search of the yarn that very day. I ended up buying this from Threadbear because they had the best price I could find and the color I wanted. This was the first time I had ever ordered from Threadbear. I have to say I was impressed. They were very nice about the whole arrangement (this wasn't a yarn they normally sell over their webpage) and were very prompt with the delivery. I'll definitely keep them in mind in the future.

NOTE: I just noticed today that Threadbear is going to start carrying Adrienne Vittadini's line in their store. YEAH!!!! I just hope they get in more than the one yarn they are currently showing. And her patterns.

Beads could totally become a new obsession with me if I let them. I found these (as well as a few others that I can't show just yet - my turn to have a secret project). They are very nicely done. I'm sure I won't have problems finding uses for them.

The really nice part was the surprise free gift that the store sent. I didn't spend that much so a free gift was even more of a surprise. Very nice.

Actual knitted content tomorrow. Have a great one.

Yea Michelle -- let's start a Triada along! The yarn is so darn expensive it's the only thing I could afford to make! (ha) And I'm in for Rogue, too -- just tell me when and where and I'm there!

Yummy. . .I love unabashed yarn porn!!!!!

The beads are awesome as well. I'm going to start whittling down my bead stash by turning said stash into classy stitch markers.

I meant to tell you that I just ordered 3 Vittadini pattern books- Spring 05 and 04 and Fall 04. I will definitely bring them to the next get-together.
